Welcome to Glendoick Garden Centre and Nursery in Scotland

Specimen Plants

Specimen Large Rhododendron & Azalea Large plants need careful handling to establish them, wild shelter, good soil preparation and watering in dry spells. Specimen plants are too large to be posted, so are for collection only. Large orders £1500+ can sometimes be sent using specialist horticultural carriers. Seedling hybrids from Glendoick breeding are unique plants, each slightly different, usually to coloure. Specimen plants so not attract quantity discounts and we do not export them unless you come and collect them. An alternative to planting one specimen plant is to plant a clump of 3 normal sizes plants which in 3-4 years should produce a large clump, probably larger than the single specimen plant. In windy, cold, exposed sites we recommend planting smaller plants as larger specimens can be hard to establish.
