Glendoick Website (www.glendoick.com) and Glendoick Café App Privacy Policy

This policy sets out the basis on which we, Glendoick Nursery and Glendoick Garden Centre, will process any personal data we collect from you, or which you provide to us, in the course of using our site www.glendoick.com and our café ordering app.  For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998 we are the data controller.

When you use our website or app, there are a number of ways in which you provide information and other data to us. By using the Glendoick website or app, you consent to us processing and collecting this data, on the terms and for the reasons which are explained below.

How your Information is Used

We may use your information to:

Data Storage

All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers. Any payment transactions will be encrypted using SSL technology.

We take your privacy very seriously, and will take all reasonable steps to protect your personal data, but please be aware that any data which you send to our App is sent at your own risk.

The data that we collect from you may be transferred to, processed and/or stored at a destination outside the European Economic Area ("EEA"). By submitting your personal data, you agree to this. We will take all reasonable steps to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy.

The Glendoick App uses information held about you, in the following ways:

  • Log information: to fulfil orders, for order history and troubleshooting.  

  • Third Party Information: information required by:

  • Unique application numbers: Apple and Google assign a non-identifiable unique ID when the App is downloaded, this is used to create order history/repeat orders and personalise the App.

Disclosure of Your Information

The security of your information is important to us. We employ technical, administrative and physical security measures to protect any personal information you provide through our website from unauthorised access or use. You should be aware however that “perfect security” does not exist on the internet and there is always the risk that unauthorised persons may access or use your personal information. You use our website and send us such information at your own risk.

We may disclose your personal information to any of our group companies (which means our holding company Glendoick Gardens Ltd and its subsidiaries, as defined in section 736 of the UK Companies Act 1985) and also to third parties in the following circumstances:

To any prospective seller or buyer of all (or part of) our business or assets;

If we are required to do so by law, any applicable regulation or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ourselves or others. This may include disclosing to other companies and organisations in connection with fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

Track and Trace (COVID)

Data collected for Government required track and trace (COVID). We only disclose your Personal Information to meet legal obligations, regulations or valid governmental requests.

Privacy Policy Changes

We may revise or supplement this privacy policy from time to time. If we make any substantial changes in the way we use or share your personal information, we will notify you by posting a prominent announcement on our website prior to the change becoming effective. You may determine if this Privacy Policy has been revised since your last visit by referring to the “Effective Date of Current Policy” date noted at the bottom of this page.

Access to Information

You have the right under the Data Protection Act to access the information which we hold about you. If you wish to exercise this right, please send your request to manager@glendoick.com In order to meet our costs in responding, we will charge you a fee of £10.
